Many of you know that Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I work full time from home now, so dressing up in the “office” isn’t as fun. However, my husband’s company is having a family-friendly Halloween party on the afternoon of October 31. We will be getting our costumes ready this week.
Even better than dressing up is coming up a creative and clever costume! I lean more on the funny and pun related costumes, especially for dressing up at the office. In 2016, I started this series with my first round up of A/E/C inspired costumes. I wanted to continue this year by finding even more clever ones out there. I am always amazed at the creative folks in our industry.
So, here is my updated A/E/C and marketing inspired costumes for 2018.
Engineering:
Kudos to UC San Diego Jacobs School of Engineering teaching professor Justin Opatkiewicz for his Halloween costume this year. He came dressed to class as a–chemical engineering–stripper (see picture above). For those of you who are not ChemE majors, that’s “a physical separation process where one or more components are removed from a liquid stream by a vapor stream. Stripping is usually carried out in either a packed or trayed column,” according to Wikipedia.
Arduino is an open-source hardware and software company, project and user community that designs and manufactures single-board microcontrollers and microcontroller kits for building digital devices and interactive objects that can sense and control objects in the physical and digital world.

While these updated costumes are pretty clever, my personal favorite is still the……

She turns technical garbel into beautiful proposals.
